I didn't mention about the possibility of voltage offsets due to incorrect grounding, but Dezod has it summarized nicely. If there is an offset being generated, your EMS will be reading a skewed value from what your gauge shows even if the scaling is correct (and the skew won't be consistent, making it more annoying). i had some rc SL4-440 injectors laying around for 4 years that i had in my old 89 teggy with jdm b16a1 swap...
